In the following, the most important business processes are modeled using BPMN.

These models describe the intended business processes, not the way the services coordinate them at runtime. The buy process below shows its steps in parallel with a joining gateway, and compensation handled centrally. The implementation is event-based and essentially linear, and compensation is triggered by the service that detected the failure.
